Spring / Summer 2016

A collection called “Rockers”, Sam Lambert and Shaka Maidoh of the ACF have produced a new range of tailoring-inspired staples that seems to have cut its razor-sharp teeth on the back streets of Kingston. It evokes both the struggle and the stance of rocker-survival and conjures impressions of Lambert’s and Maidoh’s boyhood heroes - Haile Selassie, Malcom X and Jimi Hendrix.

ROCKERS /ˈrɑːkərs/

It takes its attitudinal cues from the will to inspire embodied by these men. Avec Ces Frères

rallying cry;
Inspire to Inspire verges on artistic militancy and is always a

bed rock of the ACF proposition. This season
their story is told to the

chest-rumbling rhythm of a reggae dub-plate and its provocative lyric is

laid-down
with a deceivingly cool ferocity.

As in each collection, Avec Ces Frères rennin committed to a set of hard-won signature silhouettes. They feature an
underlying strain of street-smart synthesis and creative culture-grafting that have fast become an ACF calling-card.
This body of work is renewed and reimagined with close attention to fabric development and detailing.

Special focus has been given to a denim program within the collection joined by wool/linen blends for suiting, technical cotton for jackets and soft shirting and jersey cut-and-sew qualities.

TRAVELLING TAILORING BY TRAVELLING TAILORS

The colour sensibility is modern and easy. This is still “Travelling Tailoring by Traveling Tailors” and the iconic greyscale still freshen and soften the line between the bold 2tone dynamic. These neutrals are complimented by sharp and dapper combinations of classic navy and optic-white. Equally true to the travel ethic is the uncomplicated functionality of the collection’s lightweight, water-repellent and easy-iron fabrics.

Rastafari, also known as Rastafarianism, is an Abrahamic religion that developed in Jamaica during the 1930s. It is classified as both a new religious movement and a social movement by scholars of religion. There is no central authority in control of the movement and much diversity exists among practitioners, who are known as Rastafari, Rastafarians, or Rastas.

Spring Summer 2016 LookBook

The ACF’s clearly stated agenda is to merge the sartorial with the street - or the “Sart” with the “Core”. Combining Parisian savoir-faire, Mayfair refinement and border practicality. Pushing this concept even further, Lambert and Maidoh have integrated a mini capsule within the Rockers collection called; Black. Using selected fabrics from the one of the bestItalian mills such as Masterloom to providing a suitable clothing to produce a concept with added utilitarian details that is at once more rugged and more relaxed. Items from the Black capsule collection will be produced in highly limited editions.
